Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. In her early Broadway role, she was her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors for stage productions and on television. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the helm of the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Other Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
